Tile Maintenance
You have seen in the Temperance home how natural stone tile can bring a unique artistic flare to a home, but there is one concern that homeowners often have about natural stone - maintenance. It's true that natural stone requires a little more TLC than porcelain, just as hardwood requires more care than laminate, but with the right cleaning products and methods, taking care of your natural stone can be as easy as 1,2,3! Basic sweeping and vacuuming is the best method to keep tile floors clean. However, when sweeping just isn't enough a light damp mop job is fine. Mopping can leave a residue on the surface so it is important to do a light cleaning with a mild, non-oil based product which has a neutral PH detergent. Rinse your mop frequently and rinse the area with clean water and a wrung-out mop after you are finished cleaning to help eliminate steaks or residue buildup. This will leave your tile gleaming, ready to show off to all your guests!

Natural Beauty
Just like snowflakes, no two pieces of natural stone tile are exactly alike. The uniqueness that natural stone brings to tile in a home is an element of design that is nothing less than a piece of artwork. From limestone to travertine to marble, homeowners have endless options of the size, colours, and cut of their tile. In the Temperance home natural limestone tile was installed for the kitchen flooring as seen below. Temperance homeowners selected this tile as well as other natural and porcelain tiles for the rest of their home at Centennial's Stone Tile Gallery. Come explore the options for your home and design your artistic masterpiece!

Let There Be Light
Don't be left in the dark on ways to reduce the electricity in your home. There are several ways to help reduce energy consumption without keeping you in the dark. The type of bulbs you use and the intensity of your lights affect how much electricity you use. In the Temperance home all lights are six and nine watt LED bulbs which use less energy than standard bulbs and do not generate heat. Centennial electricians also installed dimmer switches for the pot lighting, stair lighting, wall lighting, and ceiling lighting allowing the homeowners to create the ambiance they desire while saving energy and electricity. These are just a few ways to reduce energy and save on your electrical bill. So next time you come home feel good about flicking the switch and let there be light!
